The increasing significance of sustainable development in contexts such as climate change, health and agriculture requires different information strategies in politics. In an unprecedented way, complex global problems call for political approaches based on information beyond conventional knowledge.

ASSAf is pleased to announce the visit of Distinguished Visiting Scholars, Prof Tove Skutnabb-Kangas and Prof Robert Phillipson to South Africa.

The Distinguished Scholars will be presenting a series of public lectures at various venues across the country from 2 October to 12 October 2012. Audiences will be addressed on the vital issue of language rights and the need for African languages in South Africa to be developed and promoted.

Details of the lecture program will be made available on the ASSAf website once finalised.
